Community Guidelines

ClapBackClub is built for comedy. Humor is subjective, contextual and sometimes offensive. Jokes about relationships, race, religion, politics, culture and other sensitive subjects are permitted when they are genuinely presented as humor.

Being offended does not automatically mean a rule was broken. If you are uncomfortable encountering provocative, dark or controversial humor, ClapBackClub may not be the right platform for you.

Context Matters

Every clapback must be interpreted within the situation it responds to. A joke should not be removed from its context and presented as a literal belief, statement or attack.

Moderation considers:

  • The complete situation and clapback.

  • Whether the content is clearly comedic.

  • Who or what is being targeted.

  • Whether it targets a fictional scenario, public topic or actual person.

  • Whether it forms part of repeated harassment.

  • Whether it expresses genuine hatred, intimidation or aggression.

What Is Allowed

  • Dark, offensive or controversial humor.

  • Jokes involving politics, religion, race, nationality, gender or culture.

  • Sarcasm, exaggeration, satire and absurdity.

  • Fictional and hypothetical situations.

  • Mocking opinions, behavior, arguments and public events.

  • Strong language when used as part of a joke or clapback.

Offensive humor is allowed. Genuine abuse is not.

What Is Not Allowed

Direct attacks and harassment

Do not use ClapBackClub to genuinely attack, intimidate, humiliate or repeatedly target another user or private person.

Insults may exist inside a fictional or comedic clapback. Direct personal abuse aimed at a real person is prohibited.

Genuine hateful content

Humor may reference protected characteristics, but content intended to express genuine hatred, inferiority, exclusion, dehumanization or hostility toward people based on their identity is prohibited.

Challenge the situation, behavior or argument, not someone’s protected identity.

Protected characteristics include race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and similar personal characteristics.

Threats and encouragement of harm

Do not post:

  • Credible threats of violence or harm.

  • Instructions or encouragement to harm someone.

  • Celebration of real-world violence against an identifiable person.

  • Attempts to intimidate or frighten another user.

Personal information

Do not identify private individuals or share personal information without permission.

This includes:

  • Real names connected to private situations.

  • Addresses or live locations.

  • Telephone numbers or private email addresses.

  • Financial, medical or identification information.

  • Workplace, school or family details that could identify someone.

  • Private messages, photographs or account information used to expose someone.

Illegal material

Do not post, request or distribute illegal content, or use the platform to facilitate illegal activity.

Spam and manipulation

Do not:

  • Repeatedly post the same situation or clapback.

  • Advertise unrelated products or services.

  • Use bots or multiple accounts to manipulate likes.

  • Scam, impersonate or deliberately mislead users.

  • Abuse reporting or moderation systems.

Reporting

Use the flag icon to report a situation or clapback that may violate these guidelines.

Do not report content simply because you dislike the joke or disagree with its viewpoint. Reports should concern an actual rule violation.

Enforcement

Depending on the severity and context, ClapBackClub may:

  • Remove content.

  • Restrict account features.

  • Temporarily suspend an account.

  • Permanently ban an account.

Severe threats, targeted harassment, exposure of personal information or genuine hateful conduct may result in an immediate permanent ban.

The Simple Rule

Comedy can be uncomfortable, provocative and offensive. That is expected here.

Genuine threats, harassment, hatred and targeted abuse are not comedy, and they are not welcome.
